RE: anybody ever use a .270?
yea i use one and most of the deer drop but it has nothin to do with the caliber u r using it is the shot placement. I know people that have shot deer with a .222 and the deer drop in there tracks and i ahve also seen people with 300s shot deer and never find them after following the blood trail over 300 yrds. but yea i use a .270 and i really like it i dont thnk i will buy anything else for quite a while. I am thinking of buying a .270 wsm though. from looking at ballistic tables or what ever they are called it looks like a really good caliber

yes i agree with the other guys, great rifle, but as with any gun, shot placement is the key,i have had deer run off a short distance, and thats with shooting several different cal. rifles.

I killed my latest buck with a .270, shooting Remington Core-Lokt bullets at about 40 yards. I thought I had missed at first, because he just stood there for a second, and then took another step towards the doe he was chasing (which at this point, he started bleeding pretty heavily from behind the shoulder, so I just waited for him to die) , started to wobble a little bit, and hit the ground. Perfect heart shot, too. My .270 shoots like a dream, I love it.
