Default bear hunting?

so, how many of you all has taken or will take a bear this year? or ever for that matter? i love hunting bear, more than deer actually and i think it tastes better too

i've taken three bears in four years, two males one female... i took them with my bow and a 75# draw

ive hunted bear
just blackeys though
seen nothin over bait
walked up to within 30 yards of one though in sept
talked it away though didnt want to try with a 55# recurve in the wide open

I actually just got into bear hunting a bit this year, it helps to cure the spring hunting blues. I took this guy with my 7mm just east of my farm on May 6th, 04.

nice bear Hia! looks like he made a great rug lol... i sleep on all of my bear furs... keeps me niiiiiiiiiiice and warm on those long cold nights up here in the mountains

Not sure what happened with him actually. I caped him out and sold him to a local fur buyer here. Don't think i got my moneys worth at all for him but i had no money or desire to make a rug at that time for myself.

ahh... i do all of the tanning myself with the brain... bear is tough to tan though because they have such thick skin

I plan to bear hunt in the future, but it will take a few years. Here in Wisconsin we have a point system and on average you draw a tag every 5 years, this is the first year I applied so looks like in about 4 years I'll get to go! I can't wait, would like to take every North American big game animal with a bow sometime in my lifetime. Will be a great goal to strive for!

i saw two out here in pennsylvania, but didnt get a shot at them. but thats pretty typpical of pa black bear hunting. there's something like a 33% susccess rate.
