My parents don't hunt, but they don't worry about me too much. They must have too much trust in me Just in case I shoot something or get lost (which I really doubt would ever happen), I bring my cell phone, like someone said, good excuse for getting one

by the way, what county is Mars in?

she did buy me a cell phone a year or two ago and i do take it with me when i hunt but when i go up to my camp about 5 mile from it i lose service and it won't work that's the main reason i think she worries so much.

pahunter86, mars is in southern butler county.

pahunter15, i'm 19 years old and have been in teh Marine Corps. for a year and a half now and i still get it from my mom whether it is over the phone or when i do get to come home its a mom thing and as much as it gets on your nerves at times it shows you that she loves you and is trying to look out for what she thinks is your best interest, so next time tell her you love her and that you'll be careful with a smile as you head on your way.

Parents will always worry, its there right. Just try to let her know you will be safe, carry a walkie talkie and a cell phone. They can be invaluable in a sticky situation.

I was lucky on this because my mom never really worried about me or at least gave me benefit of the doubt. Parents will be like that lol

I'm 16 turning 17 and have been hunting by myself since 12. My mom is always worried saying that I'm going to get shot because I may be careful but the other people in the woods aren't and all that. I just hunt anyways and leave while she's still talking. She's not so upset when she sees me come home happy with a deer.
