RE: How far do u practice?
Bow 65-70 yards with hunting bow, and target bow, but will do some 90 meter shooting after it' s all finished. I' ll shoot deer to 45 yards max. I can hold a 4" 5 arrow group @65 yards on a good day, but there' s way too many variables and dropping KE and speed at that range to even think about shooting deer at that distance.

Shooting with a gun, between 500-100yards but i dont plan on hunting a gun anymore since i got my bow I went out to about 65 yards with that just in case i ever have to make a shot that far. I dont plan to shoot further then 30 yards though. Doesnt hurt to pratice on the more extreme distance however[:-]

Practic at more than one distance. I practice from 25yards out to 500 yards with my rifles.
P.S. I dont use all of my guns out to 500 yards when im hunting. Just my 7mm mag on coyotes. They still go through good.

How far do you plan to hit game? I take the farthest I plan to shoot in the field and then add 25% or so. The longest shot I have taken is at 300 yds and made a clean shot. I will practice to 400 yds, and be consistent. That allows me to make shots at shorter distances, and not have to worry about "buck fever" too much. The longest shot I will take is 300 yds on deer and such with my .30-06. With my .223, who knows, ground squirrels are usually a hit or miss proposition. With my .50 ML, I will practice to 75 yds and not shoot at deer or elk past 60.
