Id get a marlin in .22 Mag or .17 HMR. I have both and the .22 stays at 1in at 100 yards and the .17 i have shot yet but they are well know for 3/4in or better at 100 yards. They cost a littel more to shoot but for under $200 they are great guns and have alittle more reach teh a .22 LR. I just got the .17 HMR witch is a 917V witht he heavy barrel for $198 at walmart and my lik bro a 925 in .22 mag for $189 at D***'s.

my cussin got a bolt action .22 for her birthday(10 at the time) and she ended up getting a pink...yeah PINK bolt action wooded stock dont know where they got it or wut brand it is but if your interested i can ask them!

I saw one of those at a recent gun show. Plan to buy one for my granddaughter in a few years... She's only 1.

It is a Cricket. Academy sells them for just under $100. They're offered in several stock colors. Pink, Black, Camo, etc.:

I just sold my 22./20 gauge. You could change the barrels with the same stock. So she could have a 22. and a 20 gauagefor what ever use.
