yes, i would be able to carry you... not over my shoulder... but i can get you out just as fast and so can any woman i know... we're given different training.

lowering standards for women??? don't even get me started.

a woman police officer? why yes she can. we have several woman police officers here and they are much better respected than the men and are far more capable of getting the job done.

"if somones wants this country to be completely equal in everything, maybe they should join the communist party."

i've thought about it

"because it will never be that way. but why should men have to pay for the womans food on the first date",
they don't have to. simple as that. i will never let a man take care of me because i am fully capable of doing it myself. more capable actually because only i know what i need.

"why can a woman hit a man when a man can't hit a woman?"

i've been hit by several men... i've hit several men....i've seen just as many women get arressted for hitting their husbands. the only reason that violence against women is so publicized is because you never hear about the violence against men. your delicate egos can't handle admitting you got beat up by a girl.

"i would never hit a woman. why can men be drafted and not women? should women be drafted? each gender has it harder in some areas than others."

i think women should be drafted... i applied for the draft myself when i turned 18 and got a note card back that said "dream on." if men deserve to die for their country than so do women. we're all people.

its nothing to do with who is male and who is female, is about getting the job done. as long as the job gets done, i don't care who did it.

i couldn't care less who does it either if it is done right, my point was that i want my tax dollars to go to the best, and not to someone just because a department needs to meet the diversity quo. im sure some women are more qualified than some men. but i know for a fact that standards have been lowered in a lot of places so the departments can provide the equal employment opportunity.

i know that its not as much an issue of gender, but men and women are created differently! men have more potential for strength. many women are stronger than some men, but generally, men are stronger. i think it just needs to be realized that there are differences.

( i know im sounding like a monster jerk today, haha, but i'm being honest with what i think.)

fine. you can have it that men are built to be stronger. but women have a much higher pain threshold than men. if somebody gets hurt on the job women are more apt to work through it and keep pushing.

i think we've reached a draw. and yes you do sound like a jerk today.

but women have a much higher pain threshold than men.
Whould you mind showing me some proof? I heard that men have higher pain threshold than women. I remember watching it on a news program.

As for her pulling a 250 lb man out of a building. I believe she could. There are ways that you can do it. I had to pull a 150 lb dummy across the bay. It wasn't nearly as hard as you would think.

We had a 180 lb man we had to pick up and bring out of the bay. Right before that we had to go out in a field and do an obstical course blind-folded. Then we put on full gear and were blacked out. They gave us just a little bit of air to scare us. The scenerio was a firefighter went in and ran out of air. We had to follow the hose to get the guy blind-folded. We then had to pick him up. I honestly couldn't stand up with the guy. That was the one time when I felt like I had to give up. I knew I couldn't even though it was just a test. Suddenly I felt like I was being pulled up and got my strength back. I though God was pulling me up, but it was another firefighter! So then we had to keep our feet on the hose and then the SCBA's were almost empty and they started shaking. I never moved so fast!

Oh, Alyssa, we had a kid walk over the hose while we charged it. It was quite funny watching his face after we told him what he could have lost!

"i think of it like this, if im passed out on the floor of a 3 story building, and a woman firefighter comes to save me, will she beable to pick me up over her shoulder and carry all 230 lbs of me downstairs? "

boy- i know girls who could kick your a*s, while dragging it 10 miles an hour for a mile.
"or how about the female members of the police force? would they beable to handle an unruly man who also has a gun and/or a knife by herself?"

she has a gun, nightstick, and pepper spray just lick every man does. im sure she know how to use it. id before afraid of fighting a woman with anightstick/gun,than a man.

"if but why should men have to pay for the womans food on the first date."

its a thing of kindness and showing you care about her.

"why can a woman hit a man when a man can't hit a woman?"

women get nailed for hitting men, as well as visa versa.

"i would never hit a woman."

from the sound of it, i have a hard time believing that.

im with huntergirl on this one. women deserve the right to do the same things men do. in some cases they even do it better.

pdougherty- you don't have many girlfriends do you? if i were a girl i wouldn't want to go out with someone like you.
