Winter plot update & deer pics

RE: Winter plot update & deer pics
Nice pics ER -
It would be nice if the quality was better - but they sure help determine what bucks are around - even if they are not frame worthy.
Have your bucks dropped Antlers yet? Looks like a 1 horn buck in one pic. Do you have much luck finding sheds @ Crabapple?

FH I would chop the stalks with the bush hog prior to discing or plowing, they will break down much better, last fall we chopped about 1800 acres of stalks before we disced for drilling wheat. Also the corn will grow up and make an ear albeit scrawney and disfigured, it just looks tashy in the field. I would let some of that corn come up then disc it again to clean up the plot before seeding the beans. If you are going to re-seed that plot in corn I would not worry about it.

Do you allow the snomobile traffic?
My father signed something awhile back that alllows a trail to go through our property. But lately ATV's have been using it and they are not allowed. In fact they are illegally trespassing.

Sorry buckmine - I missed the post.
Yes - we sure do allow the snowmobile traffic. We were leary at first -but the Snowmobile club has been true to their word. They have left alone the cabin, and stayed on the trails.
I will say that in the summer months we do get 4 wheeler traffic as well. Not alot - but yes they tresspass often enough to get on my nerves as well. They are not supposed to use the snowmobile trails in the summer - but I think enough people do to put the snowmobile clubs in jeperody. Time will tell if we continue to allow the trails.
Again - sorry I didn't post back.

Snowmobiling is big business in NY state, I used to go to Old Forge a lot, and to Malone andother places, spent a lot of money on fuel, lodging, meals, and whatever else . Dont have a sled now instead have an ATV Yamaha Big Bear 400..

Buckmine - I think I can speak for most us - we like to see the pictures.
Post some if you can. Photobucket.com is a decent free picture hosting site.
