Default What a Crappy Day I had today!!!!!!!

Well it was off to plant my log roads in rye grass today. Got up to my property and I have a concrete post that I attach a cable too, so people do not drive down into our fields....and low and behold someone pulled the concrete post out of the ground and stole the cable!!!!!!! Broke the lock and the post is laying on the ground!!!!

Then to top my day off, I start walking around and seeing piles of cow poop everywhere!!!!! (the farmer down the road about a mile away has hefers in a pasture)

I walk back to my clover plot and WHAT!!!!!! IT LOOKS LIKE A F&**#N GOLF GREEN!!!!!!!!! These stupid cows mowed my fields down to about an 1" or less over THE ENTIRE 1 ACRE PLOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WHAT A DAY!!!!!!!!!! I only hope it grows back soon!!!!!!

maybe the farmer pulled the cable so his cows could have easier access to the native clovers you speak of? sounds like you have some good pasture ground there. you have a decision to make now, should you rent this ground to the farmer? or should you just start hunting the cows (beef taste better ).sounds to me like your better at attracting cows than deer so you should follow your strong suite, start praticing your calling.

Did you call the farmer? Sure it sucks, look at the positive, now you have a good reason to talk with him, might give you a chance to
gain access or strengthen a relationship.

Hey PA..maybe you can come up and help me dig the hole and reconcrete it in 2 weeks. AH, but you will probably be too hung over for that. Just keep the canoe away from it. IF I see the cows in there its gonna be camp meat for everyone....

FH....I do have a decent relationship with the guy now. I spring turkey hunt there once in a great while. THe farmer is really one of the nicest people you will ever meet. Maybe I can get an old set of discs I have been looking for from him.. I know its not his fault just frustrating when you see your hard earned invesment lowered down so far that you could putt a golf ball on.

Hey Topper and Ilbback, wonder if JB, slink and danny got mixed up on the crop and went out there to harvest? Oh greg it will be better once you shoot all those nasty cows, hey maybe even some of your buck hunters at the cabin could hit a big old cow, heard of the running deer target, they could practice on the standing cow .

Your friend,
Cleeby

PS - just let me know when your ready to put the pole back and i will help you.

Hey PA.maybe you should have called yourself PA "side hill".

No other damage other than the concrete post pulled out of the ground.

Its really a shame that you can't have people stealing and doing vandalism like that. But then Cleeb has a thing for gates in the past, maybe I ought to give him a call maybe he has a new protege????

can't say i'm fond of the name choice either but my first 9 or 10 choices were already taken, i was runnen outa choices.

it is kinda odd that your cable was gone but cleebs wasn't. cleeb ain't got no winch on this bronco though, so his guess about jb/slink and danny may be right.

confidential: for cleeby
that idea you had about hooking a cable to a pole and making a drag to pull behind my tractor should work great. were did you find that nice cable at???????????

ilbback; it must have been contagious. I went to the back of the property on Sunday morning to check on the bear food and low and behold: Someone attached a vehicle to a 1" chain I have attached to 2 - 8" posts. The chain was strong enough to rip both posts off when they drove. The only thing that stopped them was the 3 strands of barb wire that they ripped off the adjacent posts and the end of the driveway.. They must be getting tired of ripping signs down so they wanted to try something different. The worst thing is that I have the neighbours watching but this a quarter mile down an old bush lined road where they can do what they want out of sight.

Hook up a trail cam with the flash off. If they are doing it at night, you should still be able to tell what type vehicle it is.
