winter wheat
does anybody use wheat at there hunting land. i did some clearing in the woods and i put up a tree stand. i already had a salt lick here but. i throwed out 150 pound of winter wheat in my clearing next to the salt lick and the deer are going crazy over this wheat. wheat is already 6 inches tall with all the rain we have had. do use this type of food plot ,i do and had good luck with it.
go deep hunt hard.

RE: winter wheat
wheat makes a good fall and spring plot.another option is to broadcast clover/treefoil seed at the same time.then in the spring spray the plot with poast and you will be left with a nice clover plot. you can also frost seed in the spring and spray later.

Winter wheat' s good for fall attraction - but sucks for the other 9 months of the year. If your goal is to attract some deer - its a good choice. If you want to help the health of the herd - its a start.
Whats up with so many members not indicating at least the state your in in the profile??? its tough to pass on any meaningful information on planting what, when, where- etc. with at least an idea of where your at?
