Who goes out of there way to feed deer?
I actually collect acorns where there are many in the cities. Put them in the freezer to freeze that little grub worm. And then from Jan to the end of march I put them out with the corn and soybeans.
I also dehydrate apples and put into the mix.
Anyone else?

we grow food plots year round specifically for the deer, plus suplemental protein feeding through out the spring and summer along with corn and mineral blocks. On our farm in central texas, we ve worked really hard at getting the deer population back up, before 1997 there were very few deer on our place. Its really turned our place around, plus it gives us something to do btween seasons.

On our club lease we have 11- 55 gallon timed feeders out as soon as turkey season goes out with a mixture of soybeans and corn in them. That is in addition to about 60 food plots.

We-B-Freaks... Who in their right mind spends their time working out of the way plots and hauls lime in buckets 1/2 mile into the woods by hand, in HOPE' S of seeing the big one... the Freaks!!! We hauled 1000 lbs of lime 1/4 mile into the woods, in pails, after we raked and picked 100 yr worth of leaves and sticks on a 50 dia. area, took two of us two days. Rain and lightning... The spring was worse, the bugs... Yeah, this thread is a freak show... I feel like biting the heads of a few chickens right now.
