CLOVER PLOT
Here' s an update.Four weeks ago the clover was growing like crazy, two weeks ago it was turning brown and yellow and didn' t look so good.During this time there was little rain and some deer were hitting it.This week I went up to the plot and it was lush green again and thick. Now I did notice the area had rain.Anybody want to take a stab and explain these drastic changes? Is clover that sensitive to rainfall?
Still need to send my soil sample in but if the ph was still low the plot wouldn' t have rebounded would it?

RE: CLOVER PLOT
Your Clover may be that sensitive. It may not have a deep enough root system for the drier weather. Maybe some 0-20-20 would help it develope a better root system. And it could also be from the PH. It' s worth testing, then you don' t have to wonder. I have a new plot that browned up some with the drier spell we recently had. My two year plot stayed green, at least what the deer hadn' t mowed off.

RE: CLOVER PLOT
My two year plot has a strip of Ladino white and a second strip of Kenland red. The white is the thicker, but the red seems to grow taller, (except where the deer keep it clipped.) And the deer seem to prefer the red. the plot is on the east side of timber, so it gets the morning sun. It seems to do well in the summer heat if it has some afternoon shade.

RE: CLOVER PLOT
germain; it was probably the rain. When I' ve seen crops planted in poor soil, they either never grow well or start with a bit of growth and then become stunted with poor vegetation. The plants won' t grow well then badly, then well again.
