2 weeks wihout rain, and freakin rabbits
I've been saving 55 gallon drums for a floating dock im building for my pond, but since it hasnt rained in 2 weeks and I had to cut the clover to finish choking the weeds, I found another use for them.
I used a sump pump and filled two drums completely with water, took my generator over to my field and sprayed it like a garden hose! Now I cant complain if they arent gettin any water.
The damn rabbits have been tearing it up. My videos show more rabbits in the clover and chickory than deer. And way to take care of that other than popping some rabbits for dinner?

Reduce the attractiveness of the surrounding cover and set out some traps. Those bunnies are an alternate food source for the coyotes (actually deer are the alternate food source because the rabbits are the 'staple' of their diet) and having a high rabbit population means that the coyote population will likely follow suit. This will result in higher predation rates on your deer, especially the fawns.

Man,
Think about it, how much can a rabbit eat. It would take 75 2lb rabbits to eat as much as one buck.Rabbits are having a hard time as it is. Leave them be. They couldn't possibly eat 10% of your food plot.

I bushhogged about 20 acres in front of the clover patch...my lab was chasing rabbits until he couldnt do it anymore! Anyway, got rid of the rabbits, and the tease of water I put down on it Wednesday (110) gallonspaid off. Rained all night last night and things are starting to shape up. Ive cut it three times to choke the weeds, but now with the drums and pump I should be able to sray any insecticides if I need to.
