Default What Food Plot seed is the best?

I am nearly sold on Whitetail Institute but there are several other makers that are very successful. Tecemonte and Biologic must put out a good product or they wouldn't have the business that they do. In your opinion who is the best and who do you use? Also, are there some smaller companies that are also putting out a good product?

You will get various opinions on this subject matter. I am new to food plots so take my opinion with a grain of salt. Personally, WTI is too expensive for my taste. To plant an acre you're going to spend at least $50-$100 on seed. I used a company out of wisconsin called deer creek seed. I planted their wildlife mix which is a mix of clovers and trefoil. The clovers have exploded out of the ground with this seed. The seed was planted May 17 and after 1.5 months, the clover is now 3" tall, in some spots 4". I am currently getting ready for my fall hunting plot and have researched now for several weeks. I am going to go with Biologics Green Patch Plus. I have read a lot of great reviews on this mix which contains clovers, wheat, oats and brassica. IMO, this mix has the best drawing power come hunting season. On the other hand, I have heard very bad things about Full Draw, which is a Biologic product containing clovers, wheat and brassica. Hamman farms seed is another company I have heard a lot of great things about, but once again, very $ seed.

After my research, I have heard decent reviews from the following:

Hamann Farms
Evolved Habitat
Biologic (Green Patch Plus specifically)
Whitetail Institute
Tecomate
Deer Creek Seed

Personally, if the soil is right I think any company will work. Liming and fertilizing is just as important as buying the seed. If the soil isn't sweet enough, nothing will grow. I placed over 500 pounds of lime on my perennial plot and 300 pounds of fertilizer. Call me cheap, but when doing food plots I try to get away with as little as possible. I have $40 in cabelas bucks on my visa, so I am buying my fall seed from them so I can save money. I try to remember that although I enjoy hunting, I'm not growing this stuff for my family. I don't need the best seed on the market for it to grow. In fact, I have spent way more money on lime and fertilizer. If you properly lime and fertilize, you don't need the most $ seed on the market.
