Default Bobcats in my food plot! R my turkeys in 4 it?

I went into my property where I am starting the seeding for my plots and saw a frickin bobcat jump out of the grass. Is this going to be a problem for my turkey population? If so, anyone know of the best traps I can put out?

Yep, bobcat will kill/eat some young turkeys. So will coyote. Racoon, opposum, armadillo, dogswill eat the eggs. Can't give any trapping advice except go to some of the trapping website forums, and you can probably find out more than you want to know.

Thank you for the link CamoCop. Where is Lake county? I lived in Pinellas for a decade and hunted hogs and turkey in Polk and Pasco.

The coons and possums usually have a more dramatic effect on your turkey population than bobcats do. Focus on improving nesting habitat to maximize utility for that, then focus on brooding habitat. Providing the cover they need at both stages as well as reducing the utility to the predators will help you many more times over than predator control alone will help.

Bobcats and coyotes both will catch some turkeys . Bobcats are for the most part, nocturnal but last deer season I shot one in one of my clover plots where I had been seeing turkeys and this around noon. I thought it was a large feral housecat when I shot. Two different times I have come up on coyotes in the cover where a field road enters the field. Good place for them to ambush the turkeys when they enter the field.
