Default Fall-Winter food plot

Alright everybody... here's the deal. I need a good deer plot for the fall and winter months, hopefully that I can plant anywhere from now to mid september. I'm not talking acres here, just a couple of small rows/strips. Anyone?

LP & CH-

You can toss some seed and it might work -

But it might not.

A $10 soil test will give you a base for the next 5 years.

The problem is that without a soil test base to go by - ifyou plant a plot - and it "fails" - you don't know ifits the weather, too many deer, the way you planted, the seed you used, the time you planted, the fertilizeryou used or didn'tuse,or THE SOIL that was the problem.

The only way to know that you even have a chance - is to do a soil test.

You don't need to do one every year.

ALL THAT SAID - I'd plant Cereal Rye Grain - or possibly Winter Wheat as a first try.
