Anyone heard 'bout it?? Its a wally world purchase. Made by harvest seeds i do believe.

I applied it to a small800 sq. ft plot. Says it'll grow rye, brasicilla??, and clover. Looks promising, but hey ya never know...

dont kno much about it i just kno that its made by evolved harvest and i was thinkin about getting it due to equipment.but although it says throw and grow it would still be better to use like a rake and maybe someting to dig into the ground a little so that it could grow better but what how big are u planning to make the plot?

Yep -

Really there is no such thing as "throw and grow". The plot has to be prepared to have a shot.

Some seeds germinate quickly, and have a chance to out-compete other "weeds". These seeds include Rye & some Brassicas.

The soil needs to be exposed - and really the existing sod should be killed off prior to planting.

Really doesn't work unless the soil is prepped. You will be throwing money on the ground basically. Depends so much on soil pH, fertilizing, sunlight and removal of grass/weed competition. I should know, I tried this last year in a pinch and nothing grew. Spent the entire winter reading "How to Books"and checking with other members on proper food plot preperations.

oh yeah i prepped the ground, killed off the grass, tilled it too about 6 inches, and threw some 13-13-13 down. It says "NO TILL FORMULA" but if you read the fine print it said for best results, do what i just said. The Brassicas is alredy starting to germinate after 2 days of being appplied.

I put it on a roughly 800 sq. ft. plot. Hope it does good

I'm having great results with this as well. I have a plot that is being prepped for Spring working, and in the meantime, did as you.

It's growing extremely well.

I am impressed with this, compared to similar products (WI No-Plow, etc.) as far as growth. It may turn out to be a regular, as I re-work or add plots.

Rye isn't the same as grass to a food plotter. Rye is well liked by deer and easy to grow. However what I have seen is that when one of these companies that packs seeds for food plots doesdoes is charge clover prices for the rye. Rye is very cheap.

well for a 5 lb. bag that supposedly covers 1,300 sq. ft was 9.95 at wal-mart. Now I don't know if it would be cheaper to buy each seed separtly or what. I'm sure that there is a minimum ammout.

All of the seeds are split open now, and starting to germinate. I did't know how good of quality they would be.

Deer will eat rye or almost any grass, but when you want to plant grass buy grass. Deer will eat the highest protien they can find and rye is not it in most cases. The companys that use some of it in their blends do it for a fast cover crop for the other seeds in the blend which just makes good sense. Some do it for a fast $
