Default need [expert] advice

hello all.
Recently i bought a compressed cube of good stufffor the deers to eat. Since they like it soooo much, i was thinking of planting some oats or alph alpha. This wouldn't be a huge plot like some of you guys got going. I have a small piece of land (50' x 25') that i'd like to do it on.

Basically whats back thier now is praire grass & queen ann's lace. This stuff has a thick root matt. Should I go along spraying it and killing it, or just till it up??

I would mow it, round-up it & come back in two to three weeks and till.
