Default First Plot - 2006

Here's a couple pictures of seeding a new clover plot - 1st plot of 2006. The plot was a corn/soybean plot 2 years prior - then left fallow last year - and disked this spring - rolled firm - seeded with white clovers - and rolled again.

The field was mowed back last fall and had few grasses - mostly annualt weeds - making it a good canidate for an early season disk-plant clover plot this spring.

I did not fertilize since it follows a couple years of standing corn & Soybeans. Though a does P& K probably would not hurt.

Nice weather for planting, although we do need rain.

We did a lot of no-till or better described as minimum till, we bought a new turbo till which is like a aerator device then a packer , does a nice job loosening the ground a little for the planter, , some fields we disc we have 2 32 ft disks and basket packers, We might have chiseled less than 100 acres this Spring on ground that had been no tilled for a few years, just to break up some hardpan...
