to be precise....a US Bushel is 2, 219 cubic Inches.....55 gallons is 12, 705 cubic inches...corn is 56 pounds per bushel Soooooooo drum roll....320# od corn is the answer.....but you will spill a bunch getting to the feeder so just fill it as best you can...

Mine holds 6, 50 pound bags with a little room to spare. Since my feed comes in 50 pound bags it is 300lbs. 320lbs seems right on.
It also depends on whether or not you are using a feeder funnel. Even though your feeder will not hold as much feed, I do recommend the funnel. It makes sureall the feed is used rather then just sitting in the barrel after you get down to a certain point.

This just has everyone thinking so I have to throw a glitch into it all...
Weight of the corn will depend on moisture level...
as well as...
if it is "small rounds" or "large flats".
Trying todetermine a weight when you are actually looking for a volume...kinda like 55 galllons of feathers and 55 gallons of rocks.
Go with the 6 bags of corn as that is almost volume for volume.
Take an extra one along however...you might get it in there if they are small rounds. And they think we are just a bunch of dumb hunters...we have depth
