Clearing 1 acre for plot
Earlier this month I started clearing 1 acre to plant a small plot. The land was cutover about years ago and there were no trees bigger than my leg standing, it was mostly briars and small trees. I was hoping to plant some soybeans, but with the amount of roots and stumps left over I don't think I can get it tilled up too well. Anyhow it looks like I'm gonna plant a mixture of clovers after I cut the remaining nubbles and stumps to the ground so that I can use the tractor to just cut it down if it gets to tall or weedy. I read somewhere online that deer like to graze in a field of clover that has been cut. I also cleared a nice shooting lane about 12 feet wide where I can look down towards the creek/swamp.
Has anyone had good experiences with clover that they have planted?
Once I'm done I'll take a few pictures to share with everyone and let them know how it's going

clover is a good choice for a plot like this.
Use round up - 2x if you need to - then disturb soil & broadcast clover. It will grow around the stumps fine - Hopefully most stumps will Die backcompletely - but if not - treat them over the next year or two - or cut them closer.
It will probably be 2years before you can plow - KEEP IT MOWED and you will have success with clover.
