Default waterproof socks

Has anyone tried and liked the waterproof socks like Goretex, Seal Skins or Water Blockers? I have a favorite pair of boots that fit perfect, but won't stay waterproofed anymore. I hate to give them up!! Any pros or cons on the waterproof socks? Thanks

I am in the military and I have a pair of gortex socks that I have used for a couple of years. All I can say is that they're worth their weight in gold! $40 is a bargain because when you have cold and wet feet, you'll spend your last dime for warm and dry feet. Many times I have walked through water and or rain for hours and at the end of the day when I show my collegues how dry my feet are, they usually just give me one fifth of the backhand wave. That or some other vulgar remark. So buy a couple pairs and have happy feet. Hope this helps and good luck.

Thanks KRY226! Some things seem great on paper and when you get them it's a different story. The Gore Tex were the ones I was hoping would get good reviews! Thanks for the tip on Sportsmans Guide, Deerdust! I am always willing to save a few bucks!

By all means oh.doe, you are most welcome. Have them send you their catalog too. You will get at least one a month, and if you plan to do a lot of ordering from them , then it would behoove you to join the club. Their toll free # is 1-800-30-06. It is a smart idea to call them first and make sure what you are wanting is in stock, before ordering.
By the way for anyone's benefit, they carry any kind of outdoor equipment and military surplus gear, ammo, tents, boots, etc.

The best of luck in all your hunting endeavors!!!

God Bless,
Dave

i have used the seal skins even waded the creek many times and they worked but i did not usually get in over my boot tops. i used them because of walking through alot of mud and water where we lived and my boots always allowed my feet to get wet before i used them. i did`nt use them every day or extensivley though, but when i did they did their job, thanks, annie.

Well folks, my socks came in!! I bought the goretex boot liner and the sealskinz from Sportsmans Guide. Both are great. With the boot liner, you need an extra half size in your boot if you wear a sock, too. The sealskinz fit just like a sock, but there too you might need a half size more if you wear a thick sock with it. Thanks for all the input guys and gals!! I have happy feet.
