RE: Hunter Safety
Here in lower Alabama we are just getting into some foot hills most of you would call lumps in the terrain but sound travels well. In the area I hunt, the population is maybe 300 in over a 100,000 square acres and most of it is good timbered hunting lands. It’s the poorest county in Alabama and the number one commodity is hunting leases. I see most of the other hunters on the roads in and out and have made it a point to be courteous and say hello, and for myself let them know who I am and that if they need me 5 horn or whistle blows and I’m coming and I hope that they’d do the same. Word spreads and now it’s S.O.P. for the entire area. Take it from an EMT, it happens more than you know and sometimes just a little pre-plan helps.
