RE: question on deer cams
I have about $250 to 275 in that cam in the picture . It all depends on what board you use . The Pennwoods brings $699 in Cabelas . Its a Pixcontroller boards with a Sony P32 I believe . You can buy a Pixcontroller board from www.pixcontroller.com and build your own for under $300 and have the same Deer Cam as them . We ( homebrewers ) know use the Sony P41 . You will get great pictures from that camera . It is a 4.1mp camera and Pnnswoods is a 3.2 I think . Shutter time is just under 2 seconds , so it is good for a trail camera . Battery life for the board is one 9V ( 8 months ) and two AA for the camera depending on how many pictures it takes can last almost a month . I got over 500 pictures on one camera in a 2 week time and batts were still reading about half .
Yes they are waterproof . The case of choice is a peilican 1040 or 1060 . The case in the picture is a 1060 camo dipped . You can buy a case and use liquid nail to have a 3D camo effect . Many people have done it that way and it looks good after the paint it up to match the color of the woods they have around them .
