Good and bad news!
The GOOD news is that at 8:03 this morning 6 nice plump does ran within 100 yds of my stand. I laid the hammer down on the largest one (BLR 308, Win. 150 gr PP), and she fell on the spot. It gets even better: As I'm waiting a few minutes to climb down from my stand, another doe stumbles accross my path. This time at 60 yds, and in the opposite direction. Again, my 308 performed flawlessly.
OK, for the BAD news. Both does actually turned out to be button bucks. I hate it when this happens. I'd like to see them grow, as there are good genetics in the area, and they may have had really nice antlers one day.
Oh well...at least my stomach is happy.
