People just dont understand the .243, it's one awsome caliber ! Thats all I use. It devastates tissue and allways passes through. Here an entrance wound on a deer taken last year with my .243, 100gr, hornady's
heres the exit wound, 3" in diameter.

I hear ya brother! I've hunted with my .243 for 19 years now & have piled several truck-loads of whitetails up. I used a 7mm for 2 seasons & had 2 bucks get away... went back to "sweetness" & lights out every shot.

I was wondering if the bullet has anything to do with the extent of damage I have seen in those pics above? I mean a lighter bullet will fragment much easier than a heavier 150 grain bullet that I use for my 7mm mag? Would this be correct in any way?

no dought about it the 243 will blowup ,only a few of the deer i have shot with it have a exit hole but all have massive damage on the inside. The 7 mag is a great round for deer with the 150 gr bullet. One of my friends has had one for a long time but had heart surgery a few years back and changed to a 243 he was very surprised at the killing power of this round in the right hands.
