RE: Do you like your Gerber?
The guys I've known who use gerbers have been happy with them and they're a pretty selective bunch. I've used bucks and cases for years with no problems. I don't tend to fix what ain't broke so I doubt I'll ever own one.

I have a gerber pruning saw and a small gerber that came with it. Decent knife, but I personally think the edge dulls fast and sharpens hard. Could be the model, as it came as a package.
I carry a Kershaw serrated rubber handle (4in) and a Swiss army utility. I do the gutting with the rubber handle, then switch to the Swiss army for the skinning and finishing.
That little Swiss army knife is the best Christmas gift my wife ever found...

I've got a gerber ez-out with a half serrated blade that I use for a general purpose knife. I've gutted a few deer with it and have been pleased with the performance. I use a normark lapp hunter fixed blade with a gut hook that I use exclusively for cleaning critters. In my opinion the normark is a much better knife for this purpose, but the gerber's more versitile.
