Whats the story on John Burns?
I was watching the Mens Channel - "Best of the West" and saw this phenomenal shot, over 600 yards on a Caribou made by John Burns. Durring a commercial break there was an adv for his DVD and it showed him making a 1000 plus yard on a coyote, etc. I have never seen anything like it. Incredible. Anyone know what sort of set up he uses?

I saw the program with the shot and it looked good, but the people that make a practice of 1,000+ yard shots don't rate very high to me. Not too long ago there was a thread about this and some of the self promoted expert long shot specialist didn't really know where a lot of their shots actually went. They just lobbed out a bunch of bullets and if the deer or animal fell they rejoiced, if it was a gut shot or bad hit they packed up and went home. If on 10 consecutive days they can hit an 8" circle at 1,000+ yards on the first shot under different air conditions I will then say good shooting.

I saw what you are talking about,, and couldnt remember the name so i didnt post about it.. they claimed that there were shots on all kinds of game out to 1000 yards,, that really bothered me,, the game we hunt deserves better judgement than that,, just my opinion but I was bothered by it.
