It would interesting to see what happens next year if he would still be around.

I understand what you are saying about injuries affecting the opposite side. My dad shot a 5 X 1 last year. He had 5 nice points on one side and grew a weird spike on the other...likely an injury.
BUt this buck has deformities on both sides. I wish the picture were more clear so you could see what is really there. The base of his left antler is about 8" around! For a 1 year old deer, that is huge! The circumference of his main beam is probably less than 3 inches around. From that 8" base, protrudes his main beam, and two other points that are already about 3-4 inches high. If this is injury, then he had problems with both sides of his body because both antlers show abnormalities.
Again, I wish I had more clear pictures but I have no way of doing that with the video camera.

I shot a 3X1 a few years ago, he broke the one side of in a velevet and regrew a 2 inch long shark tooth shaped point instead. Injury in velvet or damaged pedicles i think in your case.

Last year I had a spike in my area that had one spike go up, and the other go straight down. This year his rack is a little bit more normal. Both sides go up, with the odd side sporting a small drop tine right off the base, kind of like a 3rd beam.
