Ive been hunting many many years and really never shot a descent buck untill last year. shot two actually an 8 and a 10 pointer. How did i finally mange to do what I couldnt do the past 10 years ? I learned how to rattle. Boy oh boy does it work ! I will never blind hunt another day of my life, ok maybe with my bow but I will rattle also. Do some scouting and look for rubs and scrapes and rattle those areas. I manged to rattle in about 10 or 12 bucks last year, 2 of which I took and 3 of which were taken by friends. I'm a changed hunter.

Stop looking for magic pixie dust. Good ole scouting and hunting hard is what kills big bucks, gizmo's and gadgets mainly catch hunters.

We hardly shoot any does on are property that way when the rut starts the bucks are on our property. We almost always fill our buck tags let my neighbors cry when they shoot does then crab when we get all the bucks.

If you like to bait you can continue to do so, but I wouldnt spend much time right over it, its true the does will hit it often, and the bucks too but most likely at night, big bucks seen to relate bait with people, they smell us where we put it out. so I think odds of taking a real trophy over bait is slim, but find travel routes, and doe bedding areas, and water, and spend a lot of time, itll happen sooner or later.
