Default Got my deer back from the Taxidermist..

I was out of town for the weekend, and when I got home, I could hear my family snickering about something every time I walked away. I was in my room for quite some time unpacking, hooked up the laptop, and was waiting for my e-mail to load while something just didn't look right out of the corner of my eye..

SNIKIES! There he was! While I was gone, the taxidermist called, and my dad picked it up. He had it with my other deer mount, and I did not notice it right away. []

Here are the BEFORE and AFTER shots:

What WAS on the wall when I left:

What was on the wall when I came home:

...and yes, They had bets on how long it would take me to notice. After such a LONG weekend, lack of sleep, and after just completing an hour or so drive back in traffic, I was probably in my room for 15-20 minutes before I noticed. [:'(]

Full story on the buck is here.

Why is his mouth open??

The only reason I ask is because my taxidermist didn't give me any mouth options.

Nice buck

My dad had his last mount done with an open mouth, I liked it, so I also went with an open mouth.

They make a jaw insert for open mouth mounts.

It looks great! Congratulations on such an awesome kill and a handsome trophy. Did you mount the tree?

Thanks!

heh... and Yup! My dad mounted it for Christmas! I guess he went out about 2 days before, and cut it down.
