A deer doesn't have to make any book in my eyes to make it a great deer. It all depends on the person, the tale and it's meaning to the person who harvested it. I've been more impressed by 4 pointers that scored about 95 cause the story behind it is trulty memorable than by some blow hard boasting about the 150 class deer he shot while out "hollywood hunting" (you know the type..the guy that drives all day til he spots one in a field somewhere). I think we can all admit that there seemed to be a bit too many World Records being touted this year. But that's one of the things that majkes our sport so interesting...you just never really know, do you? I challenge any one to beat a deer that your first child got while hunting with you...B&C or not. Safe travels tonight folks. Happy New Year. S

100% correct. The deer that your child gets is always going to be a trophy in your mind....or at least it would be in mine. I am probably just as proud of my 125-130 class buck as what someone with a 190+ class buck gets during season.

WR you pretty muched said it all, the deer I look forward to the most is the first one one of my twin daughters take, that will be a trophy in the old mans eyes because I know that no matter what the deer is buck or doe, 4 point, spike or 12 point, my trophy will be the thrill of knowing they have joined the world of the hunter.
