Huntlikeaveteran,the wind was unreal but the area the stand is in is head high laurel and if your on the ground you cant see 10 maybe 15 yards.The stand is located where two benches end and become one then it is a major thicket of laurel and chestnut oaks.Over the years we have shot some pretty nice bucks from this stand so we like to sit in it as long as possible no matter what the weather.Last year the first day it was 18 degrees and my dad took a 17" 8 point at 2:30 in the afternoon.

JPS, give your boy a big hug and high five. Great story and great grin on your boy. This is what it's all about. If he never takes another big boy like that the two of you can always look back to that picture, that hunt, that grin and re-live that fabulous spec of time.
