Guess it depends on where you hunt. In Texas where I hunt, lightening is common in deer season and is the only thing that will keep me from hunting due to fear. I don' t hunt in a downpour, but not from fear, just because I don' t want to. Don' t mind hunting in a drizzle though.
Some of the best hunting I have ever experienced was right after a big thunderbumper rainstorm. Last fall, it stormed all night until after daylight and then let up to periodic drizzling. Went still hunting and saw a deer behind every bush.
The only thing that would keep me from hunting because of fear would be something that could end my life, not just because it would be uncomfortable. That really comes down to lightening and blizzard conditions. Have never worried about blizzards in Texas where I hunt.

It has to be the wind, this fall we had sustained wind gusts up to 50 mph and without a doubt it was a life and death situation in the bush. Trees where dropping everywhere, I got out in time but a couple of buds in a truck 5 min. behind me had to chainsaw a few trees to get out while the bush was dropping around thier ears.

Sleet/freezing rain and HIGH winds, dont really have to wrry about lightning here during rifle season here. bow season would a different, then lightning would be a grave factor. other then that i just go out and hunt.
