Sighted in new scope/got a nice buck
Well, Fri. after the morning hunt, we sighted in my new scope. I went out Friday afternoon and got a nice(for around here) 7 pointer! But honestly, I didn' t need the scope as I got him at about 10 yards away! I had grunted and used my call in a can, and he came down an old fence row. We have a 3 point rule and he wouldn' t let me see his head hardly at all. At 20 yards away, he stopped and looked up and I held the scope on him for about 5 minutes but couldn' t count the points because he stayed behind just enough brush. When he put his head down, I had to put the gun back down because I was getting tired of holding the gun on him and looking through the scope. I thought he would come down beside me but he eased directly in front of me , keeping just enough brush between him and me. He stopped 10 yards away from me, his head behind a cedar and all I could see was his body. He then was getting suspicious and stepped backwards one time and had 1 back leg in the air, I think he was getting ready to run, but that was enough to count the points and I got him.
