RE: killing a deer every year 2
02bhntn,
I' m with you man! We have got a problem with the buck to doe ratio here in most parts of VA. I' ve taken 4 does so far between the urban archery season and the lease I am on. If we don' t take these does out its going to be a mess. I have passed small bucks and yearlings and taken only mature does. All shots have been inside 20 yards and all were recovered in 75 yards or less. I either give the extra deer to the Hunters for the Hungry or I know several people who usually will take the deer. I have lost 1 deer in 20 years of hunting....a mistake that was my fault.

I agree with the point on the doe to buck ratio, but there are some people who are judt killing to be killing. I hunt in Southhampton and we are seeeing our population soar to very large numbers and we have 100 DMAP tags this year and we plan to use them. I have been hunting for 17 years and I have killed at least 1 deer every year and up to 4 in a few years.
