You don' t need a stand. My advice for gun hunting would be to cover as much area as possible with the wind in your face. Get a knife and a flashlight so you don' t get shot in the dark. O yeah bring some tp!

Nathan, I wish you good luck and hope you been practicing with your rifle.
Forget the calls and scents for right now. Get you some clothes that are suitable for your weather. Don' t forget something for your head and ears and some good gloves. Wash them in baking soda if money is a problem, if not, buy some scent eliminator detergent.
A good knife is essential, anything with a strong, sharp 3 or 4 inch blade will work fine or something close.
NOTE: If your wearing everyday clothes or for that matter some camo for the first time, you need to check it for UV brightners. Buy you a cheap screw in black light bulb and install it in your closet. Put everything your going to be wearing in the closet and shut door with you in there too. Make sure none of your clothes glow under the black light, if it does, it will glow for the deer to. they can see uv light.
IF it does, either don' t wear it or get some uv killer from wallyworld or elsewhere and spray it. Make sure it works. Check it again after every washing.
