I always have. But I second the mention of making a blind from natural materials and downed logs, etc. If you are really worried, hang an orange cap on a branch near your blind or on top to alert others that you are there.

But, I have never seen a popup that would fool a human. They block your movement, so it might work on deer, but people can tell the color differences between camo pattern and real dead branches.
