Nice Mulie...congrats!
I don' t know how the best way to get the velvet off it, but I do know a couple guys that have done it. I thought it looke funny when they got done...not natural....but I don' t know if they did it right or not. I think if I ever got one in velvet, I' d look into how to preserve the velvet so it would stay on. I guess check with your local taxidermist, they' d probably have the best advice.

Be proud and keep it on! It' s pretty rare to get them in velvet and you can' t make it look good if you strip it off...congrats! JDinAB

ya youll never get the antlers to look like they do when the deer take it off all nice and polished...id talk to a taxidermist and preserve the velveted antlers if i took a buck in velvet...i think theyd look funny without it at that stage of growth too.....but everyone likes something else....i do love the look of a nice polished rack but youll never achieve it like a deer would i dont think...good luck
