maiking a mock scrape
I have a scent driper and bought some wildlife research center active scrape scent. Do you guys have much luck with mock scrapes? I have tried them before but the only luck I have ever had using scents was with trails end (on a scent wick). I have worn nitrile gloves, rubber boots, scent killer spray, used a hand rake to clear out the scrape and have just never had any luck with them. I think one of the times I set it out the deer could see it (dripper) so next time I put it where it was much less visable. Same result. I have put them in high usage areas and usually close to where a buck scrape is to try and seem like a buck trying to move in on his turf. Maybe it's just that they are exceptionally hard to hunt here in northern Michigan on state land. Advice? Also, what kind of scent do you guys use in your scent drippers? A scrape type scent or just doe in heat scent?

1st key to making a mock scrape is it has to be where they are or will be to find it and use it.
Make a few of them not just one
next I have had more success walking through the woods and kicking some leaves outa the way and me actually peeing on the ground or squirting some tinks when I run out then using that rig you talk of.

Same here I was a little sceptical about peeing in the scrape but it works. I made a mock scrape (very little one) and took a pee in it and wow when I went back it was triple in size and every branch above it was broke. I won't buy anymore scent, just use my own.
