Whoa. I had no idea of what to expect but I didn't expect this.

I come from a radio background working behind the scenes as a call screener and board op. Anyone who knows anything about radio and the media should realize that "disagreement" makes for good and interesting conversation. Nobody's trying to pick a fight with anyone.

I'm the one who thought of posting the telephone number to see if people would actually call in. I guess I was wrong.

FYI, this is also the telephone number that people can call when he's doing his radio show. All week long it's just a voicemail and then during his show, it's answered at the network and people can talk with Alan personally.

He warned me about getting on forums and told me that there was anger and resentment and criticism that did little for anyone except make them feel important.

I'll back off this forum as it's clearly angered some people and that was not my intention.

No one's angry. We're here to talk about hunting, not your boss. Thanks for stopping by though.

FYI, this is also the telephone number that people can call when he's doing his radio show. All week long it's just a voicemail and then during his show, it's answered at the network and people can talk with Alan personally, well those who want to.

He warned me about getting on forums and told me that there was anger and resentment and criticism that did little for anyone except make them feel important.

The key word in your post is conversation. The definition of conversation is dialog between two people. Not a person venting to a machine. If you want someone to call and debate with you, you need to have person on the other side not an answering machine. That is the reason why nobody is going to call. Not because they are angry, but because they refuse to talk to a machine. Would you honestly call a number that you knew nobody would answer and would go straight to voice mail? I think not.

Hey Chris go tell your boss to sign up for the site and then talk to people. Sorry but you sound like someone egging people into calling an unknown number that really sounds like a scam of some sort. Sorry in this day and age only a fool would make that kind of call.

Get your boss on here and engage the users in a discussion where we know what is going on. Sounds like he feels he can convince anyone he is right. And now he wants to engage people on the air to his benefit and that of his station. No way No how. You two just want to use this forum to your own financial advantage and no one here is falling for it. Worse than spam.

What do you mean by make them feel important? Can't people have an opinion without you looking down your nose at them. I dont resent anyone or angry at anyone. If a guy wants to hunt in a pen, then I say go for it. If you are so comfortable with it then why do you even care what others think? Sounds like you have a chip on your shoulder because others don't like high fence.

Is the show doing well? If so then congratulations. If not then don't burn so many bridges by talk telling us how we should feel. Try and connect with your audience, not drive them away.

I think his TV show sucks, nothing but an add for a kids hunting ranch. Cool idea but its just another infomercial.

Chris, this sounds more like "my boss needs a ratings boost" rather than a "I'm gonna prove my know it all boss wrong". I will you that I personally don't know anybody that thinks hunting wild game in high fence areas is fair chase. The baiting I don't have a problem with. If you're planting crops/food plot with intention of luring deer to you site, then you are baiting. JMO.

Thanks for everyone's comments. I'm pretty sure Alan will get on this subject and talk about forums tomorrow morning on the radio. Not to beat a dead horse but all you people who are so passionate should think about calling in during his show from 9:15-11:15am CT. Your calls (or not) will not have any effect on his show or ratings, etc. But it does make for interesting listening for sure.

maybe nobody calls because nobody watches his show?
when i have an issue to discuss i can say alot more and clarify my stance on a subject much more clearly in writing , than i could on 1-3 minute phone call.

still dont know this guy and what his stance is on whatever issues. why should i call?
