Sleeping in your stand!

RE: Sleeping in your stand!
I try not to sleep at all in my stand. Even if it is not at a peak time, you never know when a good buck will show up! A few years back, I missed an easy opportunity at a good buck. The sun was warming my stand up to just the right temperature, so I settled into a shady corner, the peak time had come and gone with no activity. I woke up just in time to see a good buckhad crossed my lane and was going into the woods! Seeing him really woke me up, but too late! From then on I decided no cat naps!

RE: Sleeping in your stand!
Right around 1:00 p.m., the sandman will usually start tugging at my eyelids. It always seems to happen when the early afternoon sun starts to warm things up. I seldom fall asleep, but I often close my eyes and teeter on the edge of consciousness. Hearing a couple of deer crunching through the leaves sends a shot of adrenaline through my body though, and once that happens I am good to go for the rest of the afternoon and evening!
