This is a neighbor's buck. He shot it Saturday but had no luck finding it then. Blood for a mile and then lost the trail. We spent 3 hours looking this morning and finally found it. It traveled about 1.3 miles. I didn't see the other side of the deer, but the hole on one side was right behind the shoulder. Tough animal.

What did he shoot it with? 1.3 miles seems like an awful lot.

Both I shot with my .30-06 didn't take another step. I shot one Friday with my compound, went about 60 yards.

Compound bow. From a tree stand. I had to get home so I didn't see the field dressing. I'll ask them what the arrow hit when I see them again.

Did the dog find it?

Dog got us in the area but a human spotted it before the dog went to it. The dog circled around to it after that because the buck backtracked a little.
