Obviously results overshadow science. I tend to believe "black and white" obvious before therory motivated "science"

Red face

I guess I sprayed all that stinky Doe "P" on the bottom of my souls for nothing last night trying to mask my scent on a newly cut path to a new deer stand site. I know one things for sure, the next time I spray it I'm going to remember to face it the right direction. I smelt like Pee Pee and the way home!

It's "obvious" the earth is flat.
Tip - it's not.

Spend your money anyway you want if it gives you confidence.
Just a shame to see some encourage other's to waste theirs on useless products.

I can't honestly say I cover scents work. However I can attribute that attractant scents work and I have seen them draw deer into range even when human scent in the area should cause them to leave. So is it covering your scent..no I think it is just the curiousity of the deer getting the better of them. I am a firm believer in scent control but I do not believe you can fully mask your human scent.

No negative in any way.
Attractant scents can work.
Scent reduction can work.
Covering scents to hide oders from an animal whose abilities are 100's of times
greater then ours, can not and do not work.
Ignoring facts to put out false information is what is negative.

Assuming my freezer does not end up with all the venison I want would make you guilty of another mistake.

But thanks for your concern.

Steve do you have a link to the study?

A human will always give off scent. You can't stop it ever. Your scent is also like a fingerprint. That's how a bloodhound can go into a baseball stadium and track down an individual among thousands of other people and with all the food smells and perfume smells around. All we can do as hunters is keep down the bacterial odors and foreign odors that we have on us.

I don't see how anyone can think you can cover a scent with a another one. I have watched bird dogs wind scent a bird a long ways off. I know the birds scent is undetectable to me but I can smell other scents like weeds, corn stalks and dirt because they are strong. This should show how an animal can smell a weak scent with stronger ones around. Just think how any dog can track anything....the track they follow isn't even detectable to us yet they can smell it. They work on a molecular level that we can't comprehend.

I use scent killer in combination with deer piss as a 'cover' for archery hunting. I spot and stalk primarily, and use the wind to my advantage, but just as a precaution.......
