Don't know exactly where you are hunting, but from now till the end of the season is the prime time to spend as much time as you can in the woods as the rut is here. I would want to know what the contiguous land is to your 40 acres. Get an aerial and see if there are any travel patterns you can take advantage of. Hire a bulldozer and make an acre or two food plot for next year. Lime it early and get the soil ready to plant in the fall.
