Several years ago while bowhunting a very large track of national forest. I decided to hike in to a very remote location for a day long hunt, so that morning before leaving my truck I went thru the check list to make sure I wasn't leaving anything behind I would need for the day.
Good to go,Well after the long dark hike to my location I set my stand and sat waiting, and waiting passing on several big doe's and a little forkhorn, then at about 4:30 a nice tall 6pt came in to my stand. I placed a good shot and watched him pile up 30yds away.
After packing up all my gear and climbing down,I slipped over to him,and after a couple min. of giving myself the high five,I prepared to field dress him for the long drag to my truck. When I opened my pack to grab my knife, wait where is my knife, you have to be kidding me NO KNIFE.
Well after kicking myself in the butt for a bit,I managed to do a not so pretty gut job with one of my broadheads with all but one blade removed, talk about rewrite the check list...I wont be that stupid agaiin.................................well until next time. LOL

I had just bout a brand new 280 and mounted a nice leupold 3-9x50 on it. Bought 3 boxes of shells and shot 2 1/2 of them practicing and sighting in cause i knew this year was my year. So i get up on the stand an hour before daylight. I sit there until about 8:00 when a doe walks out. So i threw up on her to scope her out while i was waiting for big guy. Well with all that shooting the screws on the scope rings backed out and my scope slid over in its mount. so i thought No big deal. I haven't seen a big deer in 2 years. Ill just wait till these does leave so i dont spook them from my stand for the rest of the weekend and come back after i fix my rifle. Well i get off my stand take about 10 steps and a huge 8 walks 50 yds in front of me. I just stand there and wave at him while he chases those does and walks right by.
