whats warmer 4mm of neoprene or a 1000g of thinsulate

4mm is somewhat thick depending on the purpose. We talking boots here? What is it you're thinking of buying?

Thinsulate will wick away moisture, neoprene won't. after an hour or so your warm and dry with thinsulate. With neoprene your damp, clammy and cold.
