Wouldn't this easily make him a new world record? Or is that a high fence ranch? That is QUITE the buck for sure.

This would probably be a non typical score because of the drop tines. If you deduct the drop tines, then the score would fall well short of the typical record. Must be nice to hunt deer like that. Really all it takes is one thing, $$$$$$$$$$$.

This pic has been posted here in the past. It's not off the King Ranch. It's off of some ranch in Mexico.

See this thread which started in 2005: http://huntingnet.com/forum/deer-hun...ig-buck-4.html

I posted a link there to the Mexican ranch, which also has an additional photo of the buck with the hunter.

Hrmmm.....In any case, its a monster. The taxidermist we know and does work for us, her husband is a guide on the King Ranch, I'll ask but it does look like the same deer. There are some beasts down in Mexico but God knows how they get that way....there's some people down there with some serious money and a high fence/feeding program is probable.

But seriously...what would you do if that buck walked out in front of your stand? I get excited about seeing a young, little 8 pt I have no intention of shooting.

No way is that 34" spread. If the spread of the ears on a texas buck are 14-15" as they are just about everywhere else in the coutntry he would have to be 10" wider than the ears on each side. I see maybe 5" wider. It might be a 24" spread. I find it's also odd that the measurement of the G1 is 10", yet the drop tines are 7". In the pic the drop tines look at least 2" longer than G1's.
Next time you want to spread a rumor, try to get it a little closer to the truth.
Nice buck though, if he was a free roaming around here, I'd have no problems taking him.

Here's another picture... Looks like it was taken with a bow. Heck of a great buck, but, not as big as stated, and definitively not from the King Ranch.
