Morning hunting has always frustrated me a little. Its like being in reverse and the later you stay...I feel like my chances decrease. In the evenings, the more the light fades, the more anticipation that the big one is going to step out right at the time shooting light fails...and then you know its time to leave.

I wasn't feeling it Sunday morning and pulled out at about 8:15, drove around, did some scouting a while. Driving the main ranch road to the front gate, I ran up on my dad's blind and there was a nice buck standing under it at 9:40 am. /facepalm.

you didnt say where your at but right now in michigan it is the last 1.5 hours of daylight over a cut cornfield, at least in our area, they are not hitting them in the morning really at all but those last rays of light are filling the fields up with deer

For most of October evenings are better, but when Nov. rolls around, I see most of my bucks in the morning.

I go in the evening quite a bit, but that's mainly cause I HATE getting up early. One thing to watch going into a strange area in the evening though, is finding your way out. I've slipped into some pretty lonely areas in the afternoon, then realized I couldn't find the game trail I came in on in the dark!

i would hunt the evening. go in at about 2 and walk out 20 minutes after dark. the deer should be going back into the woods for bedding so you should be able to catch a buck if your in the right spot

If the area you plan on hunting is a food source, I would hunt it in the evenings. If the area you plan to hunt is a bedding area or traveling spots, I like to hunt those in the mornings.

For me it depends on which stand I'm hunting. Some are better morning stands and some evening stands.

Finally, an honest person!!!!! I hate mornings too. If nothing else just get a cheap gps so that you can backtrack; thick, dark, mosquito infested Florida swamps aren't fun after dark.
