Getting Started
Bow hunting is a lot of fun but it takes a lot of skill, patience and practice. I would try it first, tag along with a friend and see what it is about, if you like it start buying equipment, make sure you get decent stuff, even if it is used.

First of all, I can give you plenty of pointers on gear and equipment. I guess it depends on how much you are looking to spend? What is your base get started budget? I will say when it comes to hunting gear, especially clothing for the elements and optics, the difference to what you can get cheap and walmart and the more specialized stuff is huge when it comes to quality. It makes a huge difference to have high quality equipment. That doesn't mean the most expensive stuff but something that is higher quality. Just keep this in mind. Anyway, I'm willing to help anyway you need. Equipment or tactics, feel free to ask me. Good luck.

Thanks for the help. I'm not trying to spend a million dollars, but $1500 or so sounds reasonable. Maybe $500 on a bow, $500 on clothing, and $500 on gear
