Something to think about is that there were 27 hunters in camp. The best guides/outfitters only have 4-5 hunters per week. Sorry to say but you got ripped off. This could be part of the reason of not seeing many deer, you make the call.

In alberta and saskatchewan it is common to have 8 or 10 hunters in camp as hunting territories are very large.Five deer for 27 hunters is a pathetic success rate under any conditions.Manitoba hunts are usually priced lower but hunts in alberta and saskatchewan generally produce more deer.

I have never been to Canada, but a good friend that I hunt with has. He has gone to Manitoba 5 times and shot a 135 class or better deer every time. The outfitter only takes 6 hunters a week, and usually at least 4 of the hunters take 140 class or better deer. This year, all 6 hunters took 140 or better deer, with my friend taking a 158 inch bruiser.

Also How many 160 's were SHOT by hunters. I don't want to know about the ones everyone saw. I want to know after they are shot. There are too many cases of GROUND SHRINK after the deer is down.My point is your deer scored 125 . I can shoot that on public ground in Idaho on a self guided hunt for a lot less money.

Turkeydog maybe that would be the best place for you to go then!!!Trophy deer just dont climb into bed with you or your guide. And trophy hunting is not a sure thing
I Live here in Alberta, in one of the most productive big buck areas, and Damm i cant even put a garrentte on a 160+ buck for my self. I see alot but.....If a 160+ was so easy and abundant what would make it a trophy??
As for the guiding thing well nothing is a sure thing. you just have to do yuor research
Turkeydog if you want to see outfitters that produce big scoring bucks then look at Big Buck magizine. Most stories will have the outfitters name included.
By the way Ploopy (Steve) you can hunt with me. All I need is a host guide ticket. But I can only guide(hunt) with one Non res which I can not charge a fee or take compensation for the hunt. If I hunt with 2 then one must be a relation. So let me know what you think?
Hunt for the sport, share the outdoors and most of all be safe and enjoy it......know your
back stop when shooting!!
